OCT 25, 2022: Fifi gave birth to four beautiful kittens today! Three tiny girls, and one tiny boy. All four have perfect palates and appear to be healthy. Mama did great, and we are thrilled this is the last time she will ever have to go through pregnancy and labor.

OCT 18, 2022: We have a new catermelon and are officially on #KittenWatch!! Rescue kitty Fifi had a family who loved her very much. When they had to move out of the country, they gave her to a friend, who then had to move and wasn’t able to find pet-friendly housing. This is a HUGE problem in our area. They didn’t know she was pregnant when they got her, but wanted to make sure she ended up somewhere safe when they weren’t able to keep her.
We are expecting 4 (or possibly 5) kittens to arrive in a week or so, although it could really happen at any time! Fifi is delightfully sweet, around a year old, and this is not her first litter of kittens. Thankfully, it will be her last. She and her kittens will all be spayed/neutered and adopted into loving homes.

Candy’s story is all too familiar. She was feral and pregnant when she was trapped from a ravine. She’s one of the luck ones, because she will have all the medical care, comfort and love she needs. She won’t have to go hunt for food or protect her babies from predators. She and her kittens will all be spayed and neutered.
If we hadn’t been able to trap her, she would have gotten pregnant over and over again until her body gave out. She would have watched 75% of her babies die from disease, predators, injury or starvation.
Fortunately, it’s easy to help cats like Candy, and prevent all of that suffering! Become advocates for Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR), spaying and neutering… and COMPASSION.
Each cat has a story to tell, each life matters, and the more we tell their stories, the more compassion we will generate.

Cookie has already been neutered, and mama and kittens will all be spayed/neutered. We show the “miracle of birth” live to help people understand why it’s so important to spay and neuter.

I'd like to share in ongoing support of TinyKittens and the fine work which is being done here. I've recently had major surgery, which will need some ongoing treatment. I chose to re-watch FiFi's labour, and the births of her beautiful kittens. During a really difficult recovery period, I found Shelly's voice to be calming and comforted my own tension. I can well imagine that Mama FiFi may have felt reassured and calmed by Shelly's presence, and her encouragement and care. TinyKittens is top of its game, where care for cats is concerned. From Mother's birthing kittens, to Ill cats requiring treatment, to cats from the wild needing care, and eventual homes. To, as Shelly explains here, ongoing relationships with cats who have been involved at TK and their hoomin families. Barns and properties nearby. The rescue and veterinary community.
I pledge to donate a reasonable amount to TinyKittens when my health improves, as my continued support of the fantastic attention to care that Shelly and the team provides. It's exciting, also, to share TK with as many people as possible, including in my work at school, which I am currently taking a break from. I have a few fundraising ideas for the future, as well.
