Kittens Video Information:
Feral mama Kiwi was VERY pregnant when she was trapped. We didn’t know how difficult the next few days would be, for her and for us.
Kiwi was in labor for a harrowing 16 hours, and four of her kittens needed life-saving intervention in order to survive their birth.
Poor Kiwi was so overwhelmed and exhausted, she was unable to care for her kittens for the first few days. We took over feedings and potty duty every 2 hours, and once she recovered, she blossomed into an amazing mom.
Sadly, one of her seven beautiful kittens crossed the Bridge shortly after birth, but the other six made the most remarkable, full recoveries and are now thriving and headed for their forever homes!
Kiwi is now spayed and healthy, and will never have to go through another difficult pregnancy or traumatic birth. We are so happy for her.
If you missed it, here’s my long, rambling, exhausted recounting of the birth:
If you’re feeling brave, here’s a short clip of Weka being born, along with a 7″ tapeworm:

My kitty that I have now, I rescued from Noah's Ark Animal Sanctuary. Her owner had been killed in a car accident! The family had given her up to the sanctuary. I can't imagine how traumatic that must have been for her living out all those years with someone and then at the age of 8 years old she was put in a cage and not knowing what was going to happen. I'm so glad that I have her now and that she can live out the rest of her days in a loving home with me. I adopted her because I had lost my previous cat Elvis, the love of my life to cancer, a large tumor that grew to the size of a baseball in less than 2 weeks
Elvis also had kidney disease but it wasn't the kidney disease that was going to take him; it was the tumor in his belly. That tumor prevented him from living any kind of a normal life. It caused him to stop eating, to stop purring, to stop cleaning himself and to stop coming by me. He did drink water on his own and he went to the bathroom on his own but many times I would have to pick him up and put him in his box so he could use his litter box. I was finger feeding him when he stopped eating. He just couldn't go on anymore and the vet told me that it was time because he was suffering too much. I know that I will see him one day again in Heaven but until then and for a very long time, I will have my girl Lucky who is a great joy to me. I believe that she will live an extremely long time and I will be right there taking care of her and loving her!
She is my tremendous tuxedo !
Hi – I have a stray mama cat who had 4 kittens under our shed. We've trapped them all and hope with the help of Save The Kittens Rescue to find them all homes. I'm trying to socialize them, but they are so afraid of me. They are about 6-7 weeks old. I've had them inside for a week. Btw, mama cat is very friendly and not feral like the kittens. They are separated now. How long does it take for them to not be afraid of me? What can I do?
