4. It could be a psychological response. 🙁 Maybe he's crying out for his mother like he did before she abandoned him. Little guy seems traumatized. Unfortunately you probably won't be able to get through to him psychologically.

8. Or perhaps he's hungry? He's a kitten and kittens feed constantly when they're with their moms. This kitten doesn't look (or sound) old enough to be weened. So when he mews when he first sees you he's saying "I'm hungry, mom. Please feed me!"
